Ocean Week Canada 2024 has drawn to a close. Over 280 events took place in every province across the country that engaged thousands of people in ocean-related conversations and activities. With another successful year under our belts, we reflect on the amazing job our enthusiastic volunteers did at this year's annual clean-up event.
Congratulations to Justine and her team for being the winners of the Litter Bingo. Their prize? An Aquatic Biosphere coffee mug! You can definitely see the excitement on her face. The prize for discovering the most interesting thing goes to Riley, who came across an old knife.
No successful event is complete without acknowledging those who contributed to its success. We extend our sincere gratitude to our snack donor, Cookies By George, who provided a pick-me-up for our hard-working volunteers. They generously fueled our energy throughout the morning of the clean-up.
We'd also like to give a shout-out to Capital City Clean Up for supplying us with litter kits which included garbage bags, gloves, and garbage pickers. By providing us with these kits. Our amazing group of volunteers were able to collect a total of 8 bags! That's a lot of garbage pulled from our River Valley!
#Trashtag reminds us that small actions, such as this one, can create significant change. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this event successful. Let's join the wave because every piece of trash removed from nature is a step toward a cleaner, greener community.
Sea you all next year for Ocean Week Canada 2025!
