Saturday Jul 20 the Aquatic Biosphere Project will be at Elk Island National Park with the Canadian Wildlife Federation for a public BIOBLITZ.
What is a BioBlitz?
A BioBlitz is an intense period of biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species within a designated area. Birds, plants, insects, mammals – it’s all in the spotlight.
The Canadian Wildlife Federation and Parks Canada team up to celebrate National Parks Day in Elk Island National Park with a public Bioblitz event. Join taxon experts for guided field walks, visit informative information booths, and use your iNaturalist app to help take a biological inventory of all the natural species that can be found during this day. For more information or to register visit: Elk Island Bioblitz.
The Aquatic Biosphere will be there with an information table and our underwater research drone will be on hand to do some exploring of Astotin Lake. Come visit us 10am – 4pm.
